Offline and Online experiments

You can run PsyToolkit experiments in three different modes:

1. Online within a browser

Advantages: - Runs on any computer with a browser - Allows online data collection

Disadvantages: - Online experiments limit your control of the experimental situation - Timing is likely not as precise as Desktop version (although still reasonable)

2. Offline within a browser

Advantages: - Runs on any computer with a browser - Runs without the Internet, for example when you are on the train or the Internet is off

Disadvantages: - You cannot save your data in your online account - Timing is likely not as precise as Desktop version (although still reasonable)

3. Offline on a Linux computer

Advantages: - Runs with extreme timing precision (millisecond resolution) - Allows to use external reaction time keyboards (such as Cedrus)

Disadvantages: - Runs only on Linux computers (although anyone can easily install Linux free of cost)
