For whom is this?

Anyone can participate. We expect that mainly PhD students and researchers will sign up. In the past, we have had participants from many different countries, including from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Japan.

You will get the option to get homework after sessions, but this is entirely optional. Some students like doing this while others skip it, which is totally okay.

Why would I do this course?

If you are a Master or PhD student or if you are a researcher, you need to be able to set up your own studies. Online software has so many options that it is best learned in a small class. This course gives you insight in how to develop your own online questionnaire or online cognitive experiment.

In the past, most of the participants were PhD students and staff members. Most of them in the areas psychology, linguistics, education, and business studies.

This is an ideal course and you get a certificate; the certificate is particularuly useful for students on the program who need to give evidence of their learning process.

Professor Stoet is an accomplished student supervisor — this makes the course particularly good for students who need to learn about the combination of technology and science. This course is thus not just about the technology, but how to use the technology in your research.

Costs

The the whole course costs only £300 (British Pounds) for students and academics from any university or non-profit organisation in the world. That is (approximately) $360 (US dollars) or 340€ (euros). All payments in British Pounts (£) only, please. Payment details are sent upon your email of interest in the course.

After completing the course, you receive a PsyToolkit training certificate.

About the professor giving the course

Professor Gijsbert Stoet has been teaching psychology for many years and has worked at leading universities in the USA and Europe. He is a popular teacher and gives lectures mostly about personality and cognitive psychology, and also supervises student research projects (at undergraduate, masters, and PhD level).

  • that the students learned to implement student’s own projects

  • that they felt more comfortable and confident after the course

  • that there was good learning experience

  • that they learned something new every course day

  • that the course leader (Professor Stoet) is very response to participants' questions
